Farm Service Agency
The United States Department of Agriculture utilizes the Farm Service Agency (FSA) to be the primary link to farmers from the federal government. The Farm Service Agency provides a financial safety net to America’s farmers and ranchers, while at the same time protecting natural resources, and enhancing food security. These objectives are performed by implementing agricultural policies, administering credit and loan programs, and managing conservation, commodity, and farm marketing programs.
Many programs are offered through the Farm Service Agency to assist farmers. These include many low-interest loan programs including farm operating and ownership loans, emergency loans, youth loans, and farm storage facility loans.
Other programs include various disaster assistance programs such as the Emergency Assistance for Livestock, Honeybees, & Farm-Raised Fish Program, Livestock Forage Disaster Program and Livestock Indemnity Program.
All Kentucky counties have access to these programs. Find your local FSA office.
